Healing isn’t a one-time decision. It’s a series of thresholds.

Often, both exist in the same hour.
In my last post, I shared a new way to look at healing through the THX frameworks—a sacred map rooted in Utility, PERMAH, Admiration, Prospect Theory, and Micro-Moments. This is the architecture I’ve used to help Fortune 100 companies design better human experiences. It’s also what helped me survive, remember, and return to myself after trauma.
Today, I want to offer something more practical.
This is your field guide.
Your soul may not need more information—it might need a ritual, a question, or a way back to yourself when things get hard.
The Stages of Healing—and What Helps at Each One
Each stage is valid. Each one is necessary.
Use these prompts and practices as tools, not rules. Return to them when you forget who you are.
🛡️ 1. Surviving
Feeling: Overwhelmed, numb, anxious, shut down
What You Need: Stability, safety, predictability
THX Tools:
Utilities: Security, Availability, Access
PERMAH: Health & Wellbeing
Micro-Moments: A warm drink. A gentle song. A breath.
Practices:
Repeat one grounding action each day (same mug, same mantra, same route).
Speak to yourself like you would a scared child—soft, simple, kind.
Track your capacity, not your productivity.
Reflection Prompts:
“Right now, I admire myself for…”
“The smallest act of care I can offer myself is…”
🌊 2. Remembering
Feeling: Grief, rage, sadness, truth surfacing
What You Need: Expression, clarity, space to feel
THX Tools:
Utilities: Clarity, Closure, Emotion Evoked
PERMAH: Meaning
Prospect Theory: Naming what was lost—and what’s still yours
Practices:
Write the words no one let you say. Burn the page if needed.
Revisit one old memory—and tell it through your eyes.
Let emotions move through the body: walk, shake, cry, breathe.
Reflection Prompts:
“What I needed then, and still need now, is…”
“I’m starting to understand that I…”
🌱 3. Receiving
Feeling: Tentative hope, joy, skepticism, softness
What You Need: Receptivity, consistency, permission to enjoy
THX Tools:
Utilities: Ease, Consistency, Value
PERMAH: Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships
Admiration Equation: Let yourself be amazed by the good
Practices:
Let joy return through daily pleasure (a show, a stretch, a sound).
Respond to compliments with a full-body thank you.
Let someone help you. Let it be easy.
Reflection Prompts:
“I used to think I had to earn this. Now I see that…”
“What if I let more good in today by…”
🔥 4. Becoming
Feeling: Whole, expressive, aligned, real
What You Need: Integration, intention, truth-telling
THX Tools:
Utilities: All 12 in harmony
PERMAH: Flow, Meaning, Health, Connection
Micro-Moments: You create them now. You are one.
Practices:
Live your values on purpose: how you speak, dress, relate, create.
Celebrate not achievements—but qualities: your kindness, courage, clarity.
Design a life that supports your truth, not just your calendar.
Reflection Prompts:
“The version of me I’m becoming would…”
“Today, I walk like someone who…”
Final Thought
You’re not behind. You’re not broken.
You’re becoming. In cycles. In spirals. In sacred returns.
These tools are here when you need them.
