It's horrible. Private prisons are inhumane, be it for immigrants or your basic criminal. This is true. They don't care about people. I used to work in mental health and had a client sent to a private prison because the jail in the county I lived in was at capacity and the person was in jail for a Department of Corrections violation. She was seriously, and sadly very mentally ill. When her time was up, they didn't give her transportation back to our county, they just set her on the street in her PJ'S. Thankfully, she had a female DOC Officer who cared about her and went to the county several days, looking at homeless shelters and going to homeless camps to find her and bring her home. Fortunately, she was able to locate her and bring her back home. I was livid at both the system for not keeping her in the county, and the private prison for not having plans in place for their release, and that's just one example... 😈😡
